Portuguese Podengo

The Portuguese Podengo is a medium-sized breed with three varieties: Grande (large), Medio (medium), and Pequeno (small). The Grande stands at an average height of 55-70 cm and weighs between 25-40 kg, the Medio stands at an average height of 40-54 cm and weighs between 16-20 kg, and the Pequeno stands at an average height of 20-30 cm and weighs between 4-6 kg. These agile and independent dogs were bred for hunting and are known for their excellent scenting abilities. They are well-suited for outdoor living but can adapt to indoor living with regular exercise and mental stimulation. The Portuguese Podengo has a friendly and alert nature, making it a great companion and family pet. Early socialization and training are important for a well-adjusted Portuguese Podengo.
