American Eskimo

The American Eskimo, also known as the Eskie, is a small to medium-sized breed that originated in Germany. It was brought to the United States and became popular as a companion dog. American Eskimos have a compact and well-balanced build, with a height between 9-19 inches (23-48 cm) and weighing between 6-35 pounds (3-16 kg), depending on the size variety. They have a dense and fluffy double coat that requires regular grooming. American Eskimos are intelligent, alert, and energetic dogs. They are known for their agility and trainability, making them excel in various dog sports such as obedience, agility, and rally. They are also loyal and affectionate with their families, but they can be reserved with strangers. American Eskimos thrive on mental and physical stimulation and require regular exercise to prevent behavioral issues. While they can adapt to indoor living, they enjoy outdoor activities and play sessions. Proper training and socialization from an early age are important to ensure they become well-rounded and well-behaved companions.
