Alpine Dachsbracke
The Alpine Dachsbracke, also known as the Alpenländische Dachsbracke, is a small breed of scent hound originating from Austria. It was bred for tracking wounded game, particularly in mountainous terrains. Alpine Dachsbrackes have a sturdy build, with a height of around 13-16 inches (34-42 cm) at the shoulder and weighing between 33-40 pounds (15-18 kg). They have a dense and harsh double coat that provides protection in rugged environments. Alpine Dachsbrackes are known for their keen sense of smell, endurance, and determination. They are typically used for hunting purposes but can also make loyal and affectionate family companions. While they are adaptable and can live both indoors and outdoors, they require regular exercise to stay mentally and physically stimulated. Alpine Dachsbrackes are friendly and good-natured dogs that can get along well with children and other pets if properly socialized from an early age. They are alert and attentive, making them good watchdogs.
