Kishu Ken

The Kishu Ken is a medium-sized breed originating from Japan. It stands around 46-55 cm (18-22 inches) tall at the shoulder and weighs between 20-27 kg (44-60 lbs). These dogs have a well-balanced and sturdy build. Kishu Kens were historically used for hunting small and large game. They are known for their loyalty, independence, and strong prey drive. Kishu Kens require regular exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent training. They can adapt to both indoor and outdoor living but need proper socialization and supervision around other animals. They are generally reserved and aloof with strangers but form strong bonds with their families.
