Bernese Mountain Dog

The Bernese Mountain Dog, also known as the Berner Sennenhund, is a large-sized working dog breed originating from Switzerland. They were traditionally used as farm dogs, herding livestock and pulling carts. Bernese Mountain Dogs are known for their gentle and calm nature, making them excellent family companions. They have a strong and sturdy build, standing 61-71 cm tall and weighing 36-50 kg. Bernese Mountain Dogs have a thick double coat that provides insulation and requires regular grooming. They are adaptable dogs that can live both indoors and outdoors, but they thrive when given ample space to move around comfortably. Bernese Mountain Dogs are friendly, affectionate, and good with children and other pets. They require regular exercise to keep them physically and mentally stimulated. Proper training and socialization are important for Bernese Mountain Dogs to develop into well-mannered and balanced dogs.
