Karelian Bear Dog

The Karelian Bear Dog, also known as the Karjalankarhukoira, is a medium-sized breed originating from Finland. It stands around 54-60 cm (21-24 inches) tall at the shoulder and weighs between 20-23 kg (44-51 lbs). These dogs have a sturdy and muscular build. Karelian Bear Dogs were bred for hunting large game, including bears and moose. They are known for their courage, tenacity, and sharp senses. Karelian Bear Dogs require regular exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent training. They can adapt to both indoor and outdoor living but need a secure and fenced yard. They are generally reserved and aloof with strangers but form strong bonds with their families.
