Istrian Coarse-Haired Hound
The Istrian Coarse-Haired Hound, also known as the Istrian Rough-Coated Hound, is a medium-sized breed originating from Croatia. It stands around 47-58 cm (19-23 inches) tall at the shoulder and weighs between 18-30 kg (40-66 lbs). These dogs were bred for hunting, specifically for tracking scents and chasing game. Istrian Coarse-Haired Hounds have a strong prey drive and require regular exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent training. They can adapt to both indoor and outdoor living but need a secure and fenced yard due to their hunting instincts. They are generally friendly and good with children and other pets when properly socialized.
