Ariegeois

The Ariegeois is a breed that originated in France. It was primarily developed for hunting small game, including hare and rabbit. Ariegeois have a medium-sized build, with a height between 20-24 inches (50-61 cm) and weighing around 55-66 pounds (25-30 kg). They have a short and smooth coat that is usually tricolor, with a white base and patches of black and tan. Ariegeois are known for their keen sense of smell, endurance, and agility. They have a strong hunting instinct and are used for tracking and trailing game. Ariegeois are also friendly and sociable dogs that can get along well with people and other dogs. They require regular exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and restlessness. Ariegeois can adapt to both indoor and outdoor living, but they thrive when they have opportunities for outdoor activities and scent work. Early training and socialization are important to establish a good bond with them and ensure they become well-adjusted companions.
