Turtle is a 5-year-old draft cross gelding standing a handy 15 hands tall. He is by a spotted draft stallion and out of a Quarter Horse mare, combining the best qualities of both breeds. Turtle truly speaks for himself he is the same horse every single day and possesses the kind of mind everyone searches for. He has the attitude that makes everything easy: always willing, never having an β€œoff day,” and never giving his rider any surprises. Turtle has become a barn favorite during his time with us. He is incredibly personable, loves attention, and genuinely enjoys being around people. On the ground, he is easy to handle and respectful, while under saddle he is exceptionally well trained. He has excellent lead departures, an automatic stop when you say β€œwhoa,” and a smooth, comfortable neck rein. Whether you prefer riding on a loose rein or with contact, Turtle is uncomplicated and accommodating. English, Western, driving, or bareback, Turtle takes everything in stride. He is suitable for beginners and enjoyable for experienced riders alike. He is the type of horse you can confidently put anyone on and simply tell them to point and go. His forgiving nature and steady disposition make him a rare find. Trustworthy is the word that best describes Turtle. He has been exposed to traffic, barking dogs, tarps, water crossings, livestock, busy riding arenas, and miles of trail riding. Nothing seems to rattle him. He approaches new situations with confidence and a willing attitude, making him the kind of horse you can relax and enjoy. Whether you are riding down the road, through the woods, across open pastures, or introducing him to something new, Turtle stays level-headed and dependable. We have owned Turtle for the past year and have enjoyed every minute of it. During that time, he has traveled to numerous arenas, been ridden extensively in the pasture, and joined us on several overnight trips. Most recently, he spent a week with us in Eminence, Missouri, where he once again proved just how adaptable and dependable he is. No matter where he goes, Turtle settles in immediately and acts as though he has lived there his entire life. Turtle is also easy on the eyes. His striking black-and-white color pattern, practical size, and kind expression make him hard to overlook. Combined with his affectionate personality, he has a way of winning people over everywhere he goes. Under English tack, Turtle shows impressive scope and athleticism. He would make an excellent prospect for jumping or dressage. He moves smoothly, carries himself naturally, and effortlessly picks up his gait whenever asked. He stays framed, balanced, and in position with very little effort. Conformation-wise, he offers the ideal combination of substance and refinement, tying together cleanly while remaining balanced and attractive. Horse lovers and equestrians alike will appreciate the quality of his build. Turtle truly is the complete package a safe, versatile, dependable gelding with the looks, training, and disposition to excel in nearly any direction. Horses with his combination of reliability, training, versatility, and personality are incredibly hard to find. If you’re searching for a horse that the entire family can enjoy and one you can trust every time you swing a leg over, Turtle is the one. Someone is going to be very lucky to call this special gelding their own. All horses are sold as-is. By purchasing a horse, the buyer agrees to sign our bill of sale acknowledging the purchase and the terms of the sale. Our videos are an honest representation of each horse, and no horses are drugged or sedated for the purpose of filming. We encourage all prospective buyers to ask questions and do their own due diligence before purchasing. Once purchased, the horse becomes the responsibility of the buyer. read more
